Week Five: The Constitution


Last week we focused on the Revolution that produced the United States of America.  This week, we will look at the steps taken to create the United States of America that we recognize today.  The Articles of Confederation did not work at all.  After a few years, it was evident that something had to be done to create a new, functional government.  We will look this week at what happened in a very hot, very stuffy, and very important room in Philadelphia at the end of summer in 1787.

Week Four: The Revolutionary War


This week, we will begin studying the Revolutionary War and its aftermath for the new nation.  We will delve into what happened to cause the war, what American heroes emerged during this time, and how the new United States developed in its first years.

Week Three: Road to Revolution


This week we will take a look at some of the events that caused the breakout of the American Revolution.  We will wrap up Unit 1: Exploration and Colonization on Tuesday.  Your Unit 1 Test will be on WEDNESDAY.  Thursday and Friday we will be looking at the Road to Revolution.  Please start out today but beginning on your vocabulary notebook.  This will be due on FRIDAY.  You will have a VOCABULARY QUIZ on FRIDAY!
